This scarf is something very special.
The wool comes from Brownie, the star of our flock - a white Gammelnorsk Spaelsau sheep. Normally this breed has wool that can be a bit scratchy, but Brownie’s wool is incredibly soft and perfect for a warm scarf.
I made this scarf completely myself from start to finish. I sheared Brownie, carded the wool, spun the yarn, and knitted the scarf by hand.
The pattern is moss stitch, which I love because it looks the same on both sides and has a beautiful texture that reminds me of Brownie’s wool.
To me, this scarf feels like a hug you would give Brownie - warm, soft and comforting.
Our farm is very small. We only have pet sheep, goats and one alpaca called Arnold. Arnold currently lives alone, and the goal is to raise money so he can get two alpaca friends.
So when you buy this scarf, you are not just buying a scarf - you are helping Arnold get his herd. 🦙❤️
This yarn comes from our small flock of Old Norwegian Spælsau: Brownie, Cinnamon, Autumn and Domino. The wool is undyed, so each skein shows the natural color of the sheep it comes from.
Our sheep are pets for life, well socialized and receive veterinary care when needed. By purchasing the yarn, you support an ethical, small-scale and artisan-based production.
The wool is washed, carded and hand-spun on a traditional spinning wheel, which gives it a soft and rustic feel.
